WOMEN’S HEALTH

Chinese Medicine is an effective approach to easing the symptoms of many health issues that have limited treatment options in standard western medicine.

Women’s Health is one area where Chinese Medicine takes center stage. The headache you get every month before your period? We can address that! Want to get a handle on that Candida overgrowth? Yes, bring it! Dealing with hormonal mood swings? Sing it, Sister, we got this!

Women tend to be the caretakers of their families. As we put our own health on the back burner to take care of those around us – everyone suffers. This is actually a big topic in public health circles! But we are talking about you; let’s take care of you now.

HUMAN HEALTH

Sometimes simple changes are all it takes set the mind and body of the path of health. Other times, we need much more rigorous interventions. With Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) we have a wide range of tools to choose from to find the right approach for each individual’s presentation.

TCM is a complex and complete medical practice with high-level clinical evidence for dozens of conditions. Numerous government health institutions, national guidelines, and medical specialty groups in North America, Europe, and Australia have published recommendations for acupuncture for hundreds of ailments for which there is proven evidence of effectiveness*. Some included areas are pain, depression, headaches, dysmenorrhea, allergies, anxiety, and more. These official recommendations indicate the acknowledgment by medical experts that acupuncture is an appropriate intervention for many diagnoses. In fact, acupuncture is one of the most widely recommended treatments in modern medicine.

WHY ACUPUNCTURE & CHINESE MEDICINE?

Homeostasis is the term used to describe the tendency of the body to seek and maintain a condition of balance or equilibrium even when faced with external changes. The philosophy of Chinese medicine is all about that balance! When our bodies are in balance we experience health and well-being. When we are out of balance, we experience pain and other unwelcome symptoms. Using needles, herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle adjustments, Chinese Medicine practitioners work with your body to encourage it to do the work it was born to do –
achieve homeostasis.

I earned a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. I am licensed by the state of NY to practice Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and am a Nationally Board Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

My approach to health and well-being is very personal and I recognize that each person who enters my clinic is coming from a different place.

The goal is to meet each patient where they are.  Life circumstances, history, finances, a willingness to engage in self-care, are only some of the factors that affect our health in profound ways. Each case is unique. I work individuals to discover their path to health using various aspects of holistic medicine including acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle adjustments, cupping and tui na.
